Program Goals
The cosmetology program a the Elite Academy of Hair Design prepares students to become licensed cosmetologists in the state of Ohio. The program includes both theory and practical experience which together comprise the skills required for licensure.
Program Content - 1500 hour Cosmetology Day Class
Course units required by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology are listed below:
The first 300 hours will be spent in the class room learning the theory and hands on portion of the units.
Once you have completed course material and have tested satisfactory you will move to unit 3 and on the clinic floor.
In unit 3 and 4 you will be in Theory class one day a week and Clinic class four days a week.
After you have completed units 1-4 with satisfactory progress, you will move to unit 5, where you will work hands on with the public in the clinic class to finish out the clinic hours of the program.
While in unit 5 you will spend 2 to 4 hours a week for 12 weeks on the business fundamentals program, which will prepare you to track sales, retail, pre-booking and all the tools to mandatory for success in today’s industry.
Units 1-4 are 5 week coursed and accumulate 150 hours each. Unit 5 is Clinic class and is where you will finish out the remaining hours requires to complete the program

Requirements for Enrollment:
- Interview with the school's director of education and receive a tour of the school.
- Complete an enrollment application.
- Provide a valid high school diploma, high school transcripts showing a graduation date, GED certificate, or home school certification.
- Provide a photo ID with proof of age (a valid drivers license, state issued ID, passport, etc.)
- Non-resident and/or alien students must provide proof of residency and/or authority to earn income in order to receive cosmetology training and/or licensure in Ohio.
- Set up payment arrangements
- Notify the school of the planned program and enrollment date.
- Students who have attended more than three post-secondary schools without completing a course of study (obtaining a degree, certificate or diploma), will need to submit a statement explaining why they feel they will successfully complete the program for which they are enrolling.
- Students meeting the above requirements will be accepted into Elite Academy of Hair Design. Students will then schedule a time to sign their Enrollment Agreement and pay their $50.00 non-refundable application fee. Fees are subject to change.
